Defiance Capture the Flag League season 7
The Rules:
#Entry fee for the League will be 3 million gold pieces per team.
#A Team must have a roster of minimum 8 and maximum 12 players.
#All advertised times are based on the server time. Type [servertime in game to get the current server time.
#8v8 game play with the option to play 7v7 if both team captains agree to do so.
#During a match each team is allowed 4 substitutes. At half-time they are allowed to switch players with substitutes. Please be aware that it is completely the guilds responsibility to guarantee a smooth process. If, in any way, the guild fails to make the substitutions run smoothly staff will act accordingly.
#Late arrivals may join in as substitutes at any point during the game. Please consider the hoster being busy and might not pick you up untill half-time.
#If a team only manages to field 6 players, the opposing team may choose to play or postpone. If they choose to play, they can play with either 6, 7 or 8 players, their choice.
#Teams that fail to contact the hoster(s) on/before Thursday every week when their team cannot make the following Sunday, will suffer a forfeit for that weekend. Given there are no staff involvements and/or special circumstances, each situation will be evaluated separately by staff.
#1 Account is allowed per player.
#If a player is caught playing for 2 teams, he will be kicked from the league and banned from the CTF house and both teams risk a disqualification.
#The use of "scrolled" characters is prohibited. No skill may exceed 100.0, and the total skills may not exceed 700.0. Stats are not allowed to exceed 100 individually or 225 combined (except for buffs) at any time of the league.
#If your team consistently cause trouble, such as repeatedly failing to show up at given match dates, your team may be a subject to disqualification.
#A team captain's jobs include but are not limited to: Organizing your team, keeping your members in line with the rules and direct contact with the hoster(s) about any issue that may arise. As a team leader, you also take the responsibility to pay any fines that your team is collectively being charged with. In short, the team captain (and co-captain) are the caretakers.
#If any player is caught cheating in any way involving the CTFL, it may lead to Team disqualification and/or further disciplinary actions towards the individual(s) involved.
#Guilds are expected to page in with their team ready 10-20 minutes prior to the start of all matches.
Game play:
Each match will be 2 halves of 15 minutes, with a 10 cap max per half.
Quick Win!
If a guild captures 10 flags within the first half and wins by at least 90 points the game is decided after 15 minutes. 3 points will be awarded to the winning guild and the second half wont have to be played.
Each team will play each other team twice during the regular season.
Winning a match awards the winning team with 3 points.
A draw gives both teams 1 point.
A loss results in 0 points.
After the league the best teams progress to the playoffs. This is subject to change and based upon the amount of teams participating. The amount of teams going to the playoffs are always 1 less then the amount of teams participating in the leage and never more then 4.
If the teams on the 3th and 4th place have the same amount of points, then they will play one match and the winner will be the one advancing.
In the playoffs cross finals will commence. The semi finals will be a Best of Series!
Meaning:
Each team plays eachother atleast once. We keep going untill there is a clear winner, second and third place.
Draws are NOT possible in the playoffs. Games will -just like during the season- be 2x 15 minutes. Only difference is that we have a "golden flag mode" if there's no winning team after the regular game time ended. This means that the first capture in overtime wins a game.
We're aiming to have pre-league friendly matches. This means that staff members will arrange matches, free of charge, between the start of the signup up until the first League match starts.
Matches:
League Matches are hosted on Sunday evening unless the team captains manage to set their own dates. The scheduled match times on Sundays will vary from 8-10pm according to [servertime. This is a subject to change at any time, at the hosters' convenience.
We highly encourage players to schedule additional matches on other days than Sunday. This will result in a smooth, possibly faster and more enjoyable CTFL (Since timing and rules may be eased), for both the players and the hosters.
If team captains fail to set up matches or are unable to come to an agreement you will be given a time and date to play. Failing to show up at the given time or date will result in a loss and, if if happens repeatedly, possible team disqualification as described in the rules.
Cheating:
As previously written, cheating will not be tolerated and can lead to team disqualification and further investigation/disciplinary actions towards individuals.
Any game enhancing alterations or 3rd party programs, with the exception for Razor, are prohibited. This does not include team communication applications such as ventrilo, teamspeak etc. This also includes any enhancing alterations to your character or account. When in doubt whether you are in danger of cheating, contact staff and ask. It's best to contact staff involved in the CTFL. We will have little sympathy if you are caught cheating and have failed to contact us prior to such an event.
Fines & punishments:
Hoster(s) can give out punishments based on each situation. There is a no clear guideline. There for an offence made twice might result in being punished differently.
It is to the hoster(s) mercy to inflict the punishments and/or fines as he or she sees fit when neccesarry.
The Team Captains (guild-master) shall be held responsible for fullfilling any and all financial and other types of punishment.
And disputes can be discussed with the Admins of Defiance.
Note: We do NOT wish to punish anyone, however we are not here to waste your time hence you shouldn't waste ours.
Player Transfer System:
Purchasing:
- The fee for purchasing a new player is 1 million gold pieces.
- Purchasing a new player can only be done if you don’t exceed the 12 player max.
- Purchasing a new player can only be done before the playoffs.
Leaving a team:
- When a player wishes to leave this is only possible if the team doesn’t drop below 8 members.
- A player can leave only one team altogether once per season. Meaning that the player will be disallowed from rejoining the league if he/she has left any team, in any combination, a total of two times during the season.
- Leaving a team is free IF both involved parties (the team captain and the player in question) agree on that move.
i) If the player has played 1 league match for his guild he can disagree within 3 days following his release and by that cause a 2 million gold pieces fine for his team. This fine can be avoided if the cause of the release involves breaking server or league rules. Staff has first and final say.
ii) If the player has played 1 league match for his guild the team captain can disagree with the leaving. This causes a 2 million gold pieces fine for the player. This fine can be avoided if the cause of the departure involves breaking server or league rules. Staff has first and final say.
Inactive Members
- Inactive members can be kicked by the team captain depending on their total amount of games played for the guild in CTFL 7.
- A player that has not played for his guild during the season cannot protest against being removed.
- A player that has played two or more games can protest against a kick within three days after the notification by contacting the hosters. By protesting in such a manner he can either cause a 2 million fine for the guild, or veto against the decision and thereby prevent himself from being removed from the guild. If breaking server or league rules, staff will have first and final say.
Transfers:
- Teams can make player transfers. Trading a player(s) from one team for a player(s) from the other.
- The amount of players transferred must be the same on both ends.
- The fee for changing guilds is 500k per transfer.
- For team transfer both team captains and the players involved must agree to the transfer.
Note:
- All alterations must be done with staff approval.
- Any team member resigning from a team without staff approval will remove his possibility to rejoin the CTFL, and if the team fails to report this it'll reduce the maximum amount of players allowed to that team.
- Players leaving CTFL teams without staff notification will be subject to further investigation and consequences may follow.
Free Agents:
New this season shall be the Free Agents and the Free Agents Guild. We are instituting this to make life easier for the Team Captains and to ensure people can always field atleast 8 players.
Free Agents:
- Any player can act as a Free Agent.
- Free Agents can not already be part of CtFL on any other account/charater. If a player is caught playing for a second team as a Free Agent he shall be removed from CtFL and his team can be victem to disqualification.
- During the poule phase a Team Captain is free to ask anyone to help them out during a match.
- There is a max of 2 Free Agents per match, this aslong as the Free Agents don't exceed the player limet of 9 members for the match.
- Once the Play-Offs start Free Agents can not be used anymore.
- A team captain can request for the removal of a Free Agent at any time during the match.
- Free Agents are expected to perform to their best capability and not to sabotage any matches.
- A team using Free Agents must inform the hoster atleast 15m before the match.
- The Free Agent must then be online to be checked for approval.
- It costs 100k per match to use Free Agents.
Rewards for Free Agents:
- Free Agents shall not be rewarded with 1 exception.
- If a Free Agent has played atleast 4 matches for any team and has been elected MVP atleast once he or she shall receive a special FA-MVP reward.
Signup:
There is not set play date yet. Sign ups start now and once we have enough teams ready to play I will set a date based on the dates given by the Team Captains.
I would wish for the Team Captains to start and gather your teams, ask them from when they are available and inform me from what date you and your team are ready to field.
I do not expect this CtFL7 to start before anywhere half August.
In order to enter the competition, you must contact the hoster(s) and submit a full list of your roster and the names of the account they plan to use. In the event of players not wishing to share their account name, they may contact PM the hoster(s) directly with their account name. After the team captain has contacted the hoster(s), further instructions will be given, which may lead to anything up to a meeting with the whole guild.
You can contact the hoster by either ICQing or private messaging via the forums. Every team captain are urged to acquire ICQ and urged to use it regularly.

Spectators:
There will be no spectators at the matches but since the great success of the last five seasons, "The Broken Flag" (CTFL official pub) in Nujelīm will be open to allow people to follow the matches live! There might be some staff members present to enjoy the matches under the pleasure of a beer too (We try to keep the liquor consumption to a minimum while working though).
Game MVP:
After every match, the staff will pick out 2 participants out of each team, and up to 3 staffers to vote on the game MVP. The MVP will be prized with 3 silver prize tokens on the spot.
In case there are 2 or more players with the same amount of votes after all have voted, the host will cast an additional vote to decide who the most valuable player of that match was.
Get your teams together and start applying guys and gals!
